In AGM batteries, the electrolyte (a mixture of water and sulfuric acid) is highly absorbed into the fiberglass. This type of battery requires no maintenance and does not emit any gas under normal usage. Since they do not require ventilation, AGM batteries can be installed anywhere. Their design allows for rapid discharge at high currents, making them ideal for systems that require high currents. The battery terminals can be unscrewed, and this type of battery can be combined with standard battery terminals. It provides excellent starting power, with the same starting power as a 12/90 Ah AGM battery as a wet lead-acid battery of 180 Ah. Fiberglass technology allows for low internal resistance. The use of thicker plates extends the lifespan. Suitable for medium cyclic use as well.
